Cogent Passenger Seating Systems

Cogent Passenger Seating Systems donated two multi-terrain wheelchairs to Longfields.  These have special wheels which enable the wheelchair user to access almost any type of area.  This is especially beneficial to Longfields which is situated only 500 metres from the beach and coast path around Swansea Bay.

Longfields Lottery

In July 2007 we started a monthly lottery to help us raise funds. Each draw costs £1.00 and the monthly prize is currently £50.00. The more people who join the lottery, the greater the prize money.

A special thanks to two young Swansea men who raised over £1,500 for Longfields by completing a climb of Mount Elbrus in Russia, one of the top seven highest peaks in the world. This took five days, much of the climb in thick snow and ice.On the summit of Mount Elbrus

New York Marathon

Janice completing the New York MarathonIn November 2006 Janice Harvey completed the New York Marathon in just over 4 hours. Janice raised over £1,565. This is Janice’s second marathon for Longfields, the first being in 2005 when she completed the Dublin Marathon. Janice’s sister, Pauline, attends Longfields Day Centre.

We are extremely grateful to Janice, Gareth and Jody for competing in such physically challenging events on our behalf.
